ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Local senior citizens will soon have a new way to stay active and engaged, as Rockdale County’s Johnson Park Recreation Center introduces the nationally-recognized SilverSneakers®fitness program on Monday, March 10.
Located at 1781 Ebenezer Road S.W., Conyers, the recreation center will offer adults ages 65 and older greater opportunities to o improve their physical activity levels and maintain an active lifestyle through SilverSneakers®.
SilverSneakers® by Tivity Health® is the nation’s leading community fitness program designed for Medicare-eligible Americans. Since its founding in 1992, it has helped over 18 million seniors stay fit through Medicare Advantage plans, select Medicare Supplement carriers, and group retiree plans.
At Johnson Park Recreation Center’s SilverSneakers program, eligible participants will be able to enjoy the basketball gym, fitness center, indoor walking track, and swimming pool. The membership does not include swimming or fitness classes.
The center’s hours of operation are: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
