State Rep. Rhonda Taylor kicks off 2026 “Constituents Speak Series,” lawmakers to give updates in Conyers May 23

ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA – State Rep. Rhonda Taylor (D-Conyers) will host a “2026 Constituents Speak Series Kickoff: Post-Session Legislative Update” town hall meeting on Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m., at the Conyers-Rockdale Library.

“Our communities deserve transparency, accountability and access to information about the decisions being made under the Gold Dome,” said Taylor. “This town hall is an opportunity for constituents to hear directly from lawmakers, ask questions and ensure their voices continue to shape public policy. We encourage residents to come out, stay informed and remain actively engaged in the legislative process.”

The community town hall will provide residents with an opportunity to receive updates on the 2026 legislative session directly from elected officials, ask questions and discuss issues impacting families, homeowners, educators, workers and local communities across Georgia.

Special guests for the event include: State Reps. Angela Moore (D-Stonecrest), who will discuss education legislation; David Wilkerson (D-Powder Springs), who will discuss House Bill 463 related to income tax reduction and property tax relief; and Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), who will provide an update on Senate Bill 406 and housing-related legislation affecting homeowners, Homeowners Associations (HOAs), Condominium Owners Associations (COAs) and Property Owners Associations (POAs).

The event will include discussion on legislation that passed and did not pass during the 2026 legislative session, analysis of the Amended Fiscal Year 2026 budget and the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, updates on local legislation and community priorities and an open discussion allowing constituents to share concerns, experiences and recommendations with lawmakers.

The event is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to participate in the discussion and remain engaged in the legislative process.
