CONYERS, GA– Voices for Rockdale has joined the City of Conyers’ Adopt-A-Mile program and is seeking volunteers to help the group clean the Pine Log/Rowland Road area throughout this year.
Corliss Turner, founder of Voices for Rockdale, said the group will perform its first cleanup for its adopted area on Feb. 18.
“We thank Mayor Vince Evans for paving the way for our participation in the Adopt-A-Mile program. We asked if we could plant flowers at the round-about behind the Nancy Guinn Library and the mayor contacted the city’s Public Works Department to provide the flowers and supplies for us,” said Turner.
Turner said Voices for Rockdale is looking forward to its upcoming cleanup project this month.
“Our goal is to engage the citizens in the community to work alongside our elected officials. It’s about helping the community to become involved and show their pride for their community,” said Turner.
