ATLANTA – MARTA Police Officers with the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) arrested a suspect today wanted for the May 24 stabbing at the Georgia State University Station.
Quinton Sharp, 36, was taken into custody on June 15 after MARTA Police recognized him by the wanted description and arrested him around 1:23 p.m. at the Vine City Station. At the time of his arrest, Sharp was found to be in possession of a knife, police said.
He was transported to the Fulton County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a weapon during the Commission of a Felony. Sharp was also issued a permanent MARTA ban.
The victim in the May 24 stabbing was identified as Xavier Clar, 40. MARTA Police Department (MPD) Communications Center received a report of a person stabbed following a fight on the concourse level of Georgia State University Station.
The suspect fled the scene. Clark sustained non-life- threatening stab wounds to the upper chest, arm, mid-back, and knee and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
MARTA Police Department commends the members of the Criminal Apprehension Team and all personnel involved for their diligent efforts in locating and apprehending the suspect.
