Dr. Cedric Alexander has announced he is leaving his position as Public Safety Director of DeKalb County at the end of March. Alexander started with DeKalb in April 2013 as police chief. In February 2014, he was appointed Public Safety Director.
Alexander’s career in law enforcement spans 40 years. He said it’s time for him to focus on his family and relax.
“After 40 years, it’s time for a break,” said Alexander. “I’ve worked very hard at bringing law enforcement and community closer together and I believe great strides have been made. There’s always more to be done, but it’s time to relax and spend some quality time with my aging mother before beginning the next chapter.”
