GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – A Dacula man was sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.
Cristian Robledo, 36, was found guilty Monday of rape, aggravated child molestation, child molestation and other child sexual abuse charges. He was ordered to serve a life sentence in prison followed by 20 years, of which he will spend an additional 10 years in prison.
“This defendant deserves to spend all of the time in prison that he has coming,” said District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson. “The level of emotional trauma he has caused these two girls is unimaginable. We pray that they will be able to heal and recover.”
In January, the 10-year-old reported that Robledo had been molesting her for several years. She told investigators that the abuse had gone on continually up to the previous afternoon when the defendant raped her inside a Dacula home.
During the investigation, police learned Robledo previously molested another girl in Illinois.
During the trial, Robledo’s attorney argued that the girls plotted to make up the accusations after learning about sexual abuse on TikTok. But jurors rejected these claims after hearing the two victim children detail the abuse they suffered from the defendant, as well as hearing evidence from a nurse and forensic biologists who found male DNA inside the 10-year-old girl.
In addition to the prison sentence, Robledo must register as a sex offender and is prohibited from having any contact with either of the victims.
Assistant District Attorneys Katie Fite-Magyar and Megan Matteucci of the Special Victims Unit prosecuted the case. They were aided by District Attorney’s Investigator Joseph Boyd and Victim/Witness Advocates Esther Askew and Shenita Coward.
