GWINNETT COUNTY, GA—Anderson-Livsey Elementary School has been named the recipient of the Phi Beta Sigma (PBS) Impact Foundation’s 2025 National Adopt-A-School Grant.
At a recent celebration, members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. presented Anderson-Livsey Elementary Principal Christopher Jackson with a check for $10,000.
“Receiving this generous $10,000 grant from Phi Beta Sigma means the world to our school community. It’s more than just funding—it’s a powerful investment in equity, inclusion, and joy,” says Jackson.
The Adopt-A-School initiative is designed to get fraternity members into their local school communities, working with teachers and administrators to assist students in improving their academic performance, social development, and leadership skills.
“We aim to bring resources to the school, such as supplies for students and teachers, while mentoring and coaching,” says Justin Gibson, National Chairman of the PBS Impact Foundation. “We trust that the $10,000 grant will be leveraged to have the greatest impact possible on the school and the students.”
The PBS Impact Foundation selected Anderson-Livsey Elementary because of its strong relationship with the local Phi Beta Sigma chapter. Gibson noted that fraternity members have supported the students and staff for several years and were eager to make a meaningful impact on a Title I school.
“With this support, we’ll be able to upgrade our playground to create an inclusive space where all students, regardless of ability, can play, connect, and thrive together,” Jackson said. “The impact will be felt not just in the smiles and laughter on the playground, but in the message it sends: every child belongs.”
