UPDATE: DeKalb County extends warming centers activation through Friday, Jan. 30 due to freezing weather

DEKALB COUNTY, GA– Due to forecasted freezing temperatures and hazardous wind chills, DeKalb County will activate warming centers through Jan. 30:

The following locations will be open on Jan. 26-30 for the 24-hour activation:  

  • Exchange Park Intergenerational Center, 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur
  • Frontline Response International, 2585 Gresham Road SE, Atlanta
  • St. Vincent de Paul, 2050-C Chamblee Tucker Road, Chamblee (Night Only)
  • Tobie Grant Recreation Center, 593 Parkdale Drive, Scottdale 

All transportation routes will originate from Frontline Response Headquarters, 2585 Gresham Road SE, Atlanta Routes will begin at 6 p.m., with initial pickups completed by 7:30 p.m. Following the initial pickups, final sweep operations will continue 7:30 –10 p.m., with all routes concluding promptly at 10 p.m.

During warming center activation, transportation pickups will be available to DeKalb County citizens:

Route 1 – North DeKalb / Chamblee-Tucker

 North DeKalb Senior Center – 3393 Malone Drive, Chamblee– 6:05 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul – 2050-C Chamblee Tucker Road, Chamblee– 6:15 p.m.

Chamblee Library – 4115 Clairmont Road, Chamblee– 6:25 p.m.

 Chamblee Walmart – 1871 Chamblee Tucker Rd, Chamblee– 6:40 p.m.

Tucker First United Methodist Church – 5095 LaVista Road, Tucker– 7 p.m.

Brookhaven MARTA Station – 4047 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven  – 7:20 p.m.

Route 2 – Central / Decatur / Emory

East Lake MARTA Station – 2260 College Ave. NE, Atlanta– 6:10 p.m.
Decatur Library – 215 Sycamore Street, Decatur– 6:25 p.m.
Emory Decatur Hospital – 2701 N. Decatur Road, Decatur– 6:45 p.m.
Mason Mill Recreation Center – 1340 McConnell Drive, Decatur– 7 p.m.
Walmart 2525 North Decatur Road., Decatur– 7:15 p.m. 

Route 3 – East / Stone Mountain / Candler

Candler Road MARTA – 2427 Candler Road, Decatur– 6:10 p.m.

Clifton Springs Mental Health Center – 310 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur– 6:25 p.m.
Hairston Crossing Library – 4911 Redan Road, Stone Mountain– 6:45 p.m.
Stone Mountain Walmart – 1825 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain – 7:05 p.m.
Exchange Park Intergenerational Center – 2771 Columbia Dr, Decatur – 7:20 p.m.
Golden Door Warming Center – 2944 Ember Dr, Decatur – 7:30 p.m.

Route 4 – South Central / Memorial Dr / Wesley Chapel

Memorial Drive & Columbia Drive Intersection – Decatur– 6:10 p.m.
South DeKalb Mall – 2731 Candler Road, Decatur– 6:25 p.m.
QT on Wesley Chapel / Snapfinger Road – 4075 Wesley Chapel Road, Decatur– 6:45 p.m.
Wesley Chapel Shopping Plaza Bus Stop – 2495 Wesley Chapel Road, Decatur– 7 p.m.
Golden Door Warming Center – 2944 Ember Drive, Decatur– 7:15 p.m.
Exchange Park Intergenerational Center – 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur– 7:30 p.m.

Frontline Response International is contracted by DeKalb County to serve individuals in need during extreme weather conditions.

Early Entry Access

Individuals may arrive directly at Frontline Response Headquarters, 2585 Gresham Road SE, Atlanta, daily at noon Jan. 27- 30.
