ATLANTA—DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is saluting former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms for winning the Democratic Primary nomination for Georgia governor. Bottoms won in a crowded field of seven challengers on Tuesday, May 19.
Cochran-Johnson says Georgia voters have spoken, and she is urging voters to join her in giving Bottoms full support as Bottoms now heads for the Nov. 3 General Election.
“Today, the people of Georgia have spoken, and I proudly stand in full support of Keisha Lance Bottoms as the
Democratic nominee for Governor of the State of Georgia.
As the CEO of DeKalb County, and as a woman and elected official, I understand firsthand the road that lies
ahead. The journey before us will require unity, courageous leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the people. I am prepared to work tirelessly in support of Keisha Lance Bottoms and the future she envisions for our state.

This is a defining moment for Georgia and for our nation. It is time not only for Democrats, but for all people
who desire good government, to unite around the values that strengthen our communities and protect our
democracy.
Georgia cannot lose sight of the importance of the 2026 General Election. The soul of America is on the ballot.
Healthcare is on the ballot. Civil rights are on the ballot. Global relations are on the ballot. Economic
development and the future of our communities are on the ballot. Democracy itself is on the ballot.
It is time we move forward as a unified voice with purpose, determination, and hope.
As Keisha Lance Bottoms’ campaign moves forward, I urge Georgians from every corner of our state to unite to
ensure victory — not only for her campaign, but for the people of Georgia and the future of our democracy.
Together, we can build a stronger, more united Georgia for generations to come.”
