Gwinnett Police: 15 arrested in Urban Air burglaries connected to social media trend

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA– Since June 4, officers have responded to a series of after-hours burglaries at Urban Air Adventure Park locations connected to a social media trend encouraging young people to break into locations to play arcade games, use attractions, and damage property.

The Gwinnett County Police Department has investigated seven incidents at Urban Air Adventure Park, resulting in the arrests of 11 young people ages 17 to 20 and four juveniles. Charges associated with these investigations include loitering and prowling, criminal trespass, burglary, and other related offenses. Among those arrested: Amaury Armas Alvarez, 17; Andy Colunga Castillo, 17; John Stringer, 17; Angel Candelaria Garcia, 17; Christian Currin,17; Fernando Ramirez, 17; Ahil Ibrahim, 17; Kareem Liftawi,17; Daniel Chelnokov, 18; Ethan Mogilinedi,18; and Adam Ayres, 20. 

Four juveniles were also taken into custody in connection with these incidents totaling 15 individuals. During the burglaries, suspects unlawfully entered the business after it had closed, using the attractions and arcade games while also causing property damage and committing acts of vandalism.

The Gwinnett County Police Department reminds the public that social media trends encouraging criminal behavior can have serious legal consequences. Burglary, criminal trespass, criminal damage to property, and other related offenses may result in arrest and prosecution, regardless of whether the acts are portrayed as entertainment or a social media challenge. Individuals considering participating in similar activity should expect that the department will pursue all available evidence, including surveillance footage and digital investigative leads, to identify those involved.
