GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – The Gwinnett County Police Department is searching for a missing juvenile who walked away from a local hotel overnight with no shoes. Demond Alexander, 15, has a medical condition which makes him unable to be left without parental care for long, his mother said. Alexander left the Country Inn and Suites hotel, located at 5970 Jimmy Carter Blvd., Norcross, around 4:15 a.m., police said. ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Excel Church Worldwide is hosting its Thanksgiving Grocery & Turkey Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 23. The church is located at 1151 Flat Shoals Rd SE, Conyers. The free food boxes will be available from 10 a.m. until noon or until the boxes run out. Typically, the church sets up a drive-up and volunteers distribute the boxes. The DeKalb School of the Arts (DSA) One Act Play troupe is set to participate in the GHSA One Act Play State Championships at Houston County High School on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 9 a.m. DSA clinched a spot in the Class 1A Division 1 state championships by winning the Region 5-1A title during recent competition. ATLANTA—Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger officially certified the results of the 2024 Presidential Election today following county certification as well as two post-election audits. Earlier this week, county election offices completed a hand count of over 700,000 ballots across the State, performing a Risk Limiting Audit (RLA) with a 95% risk limit. DECATUR, GA—Some voters in DeKalb County will head to the polls again in the upcoming General/Special Election runoff, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024. When a candidate does not receive 50 percent plus one vote during the General Election, a runoff election is held.
