GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett County will begin accepting applications for its Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant on Thursday, Aug. 1. The grant program provides financial assistance to nonprofits negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. SBA to open Business Recovery Center to assist applicants  ATLANTA) – Businesses affected by the water main breaks, which occurred from May 31 to June 6,2024, in 11 Georgia counties, may now apply for low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– The Gwinnett Police Department is investigating the death of a pregnant 16-year-old girl whose body was found in a wooded area on July 15 after her family tracked her cell phone. Jesus Monroy, the ex-boyfriend of Mia Campos, was arrested today, July 17, in connection with her death.  He has been charged with giving false statements to a police officer. The investigation is still active. GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – Gwinnett County Police detectives have identified the victim and charged the suspect in connection with a deadly domestic incident that took place on July 11 at a residence on Glen Summit Lane in Snellville. Johnita Weaver, 61, has been identified as the victim, GCPD announced on Tuesday, July 17. GWINNETT COUNTY, GA—Detectives have arrested Ernesto Garcia-Bailon, 20, of Norcross, in connection with a deadly shooting that happened behind a plaza on Sunday, July 14. The shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. in a wooded area behind a plaza located at 4840 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Norcross, Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
