ATLANTA—The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management has lifted the boil water advisory for the area affected by the water main break at Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and J.P. Brawley Drive. The advisory, initially issued on Friday, May 31, is no longer in effect for this area, officials said today, June 3. Sampling has confirmed that the city’s public water may be used for all purposes and does not require boiling. The city’s drinking water meets or exceeds standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as required by the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act, officials stated. The Georgia…

DECATUR, GA— DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews have completed repairs to a broken six-inch-diameter water main on Nichols Lane near McAfee Road in unincorporated Decatur. The break was caused by a tree that uprooted, officials said. Water service has been restored to the area. As service is restored, customers in the affected area may experience brown water and are encouraged to run the faucets inside and outside their homes/businesses to clear the internal plumbing.  LAWRENCEVILLE, GA– A Gwinnett County jury found a Lawrenceville man guilty of shooting and killing a man he’d had an argument with a year before the deadly incident. Neil Patrick Frasdilla, 27, was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony for the Sept. 2023 murder of Darius Dugger, 46. Frasdilla was sentenced on May 28 to life without the possibility of parole plus 25 years. “We are happy to see justice served in this case,” said Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson. “This was a calculated, premeditated murder.…
