ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA– Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) will partner with Georgia State University’s College of Education & Human Development (CEHD) to help reduce the teacher shortage in Georgia. The Pathways to Teacher Credentialing Project will give provisionally licensed teachers who are currently in the classroom and paraprofessionals with bachelor’s degrees in RCPS the opportunity to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, which will prepare them to become certified teachers of record. ATLANTA–The Atlanta community is mourning the death of Dexter Scott King, the youngest son of the late Coretta Scott King and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.   Dexter Scott King passed away at his home in Malibu, California after a 3 ½-year battle with prostate cancer on Monday, Jan. 22. DECATUR, GA— Aqontise Glenn, 33, of Decatur will spend the rest of his life in prison for the fatal drive-by shooting of 36-year-old Christopher Copeland on Sept. 8, 2021. DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston announced the conviction by jury trial involving Glenn, who was found guilty on charges of Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Felony fleeing.
