DEKALB COUNTY, GA–DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston announced a conviction by jury trial in the case against Dwayne Brewer, 28, accused in the murder of a man whom he and his roommate, Carlos Ivey, 27, lured into a fake drug deal with the intention of robbing him. ATLANTA, GA – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced today that MARTA is one of 24 transit authorities nationwide receiving a Regional Innovative Accelerator program (RIA) grant from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA– Rockdale County Animal Services Division will hold an unveiling ceremony for its new adoption trailer on Monday, Nov. 6, 9:30 a.m. at the Rockdale County Animal Shelter, 1506 Rockbridge Road, Conyers. The new adoption trailer will help to enhance the adoption capabilities for the division. DECATUR, GA— DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) crews have completed repairs to a six-inch-diameter water main in the area of Clifton Road near Oxford Road. Crews are also assessing the water system in the area. STONE MOUNTAIN, GA— More than 100 volunteers representing UnitedHealthcare, KABOOM! and the City of Stone Mountain came together to build a new playground at Leila Mason Park in the city’s historic Shermantown. The build day project was part of United Healthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well.” initiative, dedicated to fighting obesity by improving social determinants of health.
