Gwinnett Community Services is holding a job fair to fill vacant positions with energetic and organized public servants on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Bethesda Park Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville. Available positions include full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs for lifeguards, customer service, grounds and maintenance, recreation program assistance and more. DECATUR—Today, droves of people said farewell to Jovita Moore, beloved Atlanta news anchor and journalist who passed away from brain cancer on Oct. 28. Ms. Moore was 53. DECATUR, GA—Crews have removed a plane which crashed on North Decatur this morning. North Decatur Road, from DeKalb Industrial Way to Winn Way, remains closed while Georgia Power crews work to restore power lines and electricity in the area. Motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice. At approximately 9:45 a.m., a plane, which had departed DeKalb-Peachtree Airport en route to Perry, Ga., crashed onto North Decatur Road after reportedly experiencing engine problems. ATLANTA–Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is honoring the Atlanta Braves for its historic win against the Houston Astros on Nov. 2, 2021 as the World Series Champions. The Braves defeated the Astros in a 7-0 shutout. DECATUR, GA – The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs has opened registration for a one day mini-camp experience to accommodate the DeKalb County School District closing in celebration of our very own Atlanta Braves winning the 2021 World Series title. The one -day mini camp is for ages 5 -15, Nov. 5, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The camp fee is $10 per child. All participants must bring breakfast, lunch and snack.
