Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is releasing an expanded list of EPA-registered disinfectant products that have qualified for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The list contains nearly 200 additional products—including 40 new products that went through the agency’s expedited review process. In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community, lobby access to the Rockdale County Tax Commissioner’s Office is closed to the public until further notice. Agents can be reached during normal business hours at 770-278-7600 to complete most transactions, and by text at 678-964-4712 to obtain information. There are also a number of motor-vehicle and tax-related services available to the public, without the need of in-person interactions. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has suspended all visitation at the Jail. “At-home” video visitation will be the only type of visit authorized until further notice. Visits can be scheduled at https://securustech.net/. Renewals and property tax payments can be placed in the drop-box for same-day processing. Taxpayers are also encouraged to utilize online services. The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) has increased its feeding sites to a total of 23 locations during the COVID-19 closure. All DeKalb County students can receive a free bagged lunch daily, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to noon ,at the schools listed. In addition, DCSD’s partner, DeKalb County government, will provide snacks to students between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the listed recreation centers. DCSD has also partnered with Atlanta Community Food Bank, which will distribute food once a week beginning March 23, at some of our feeding sites. The District is seeking additional partners.…
