DEKALB COUNTY, GA—The DeKalb County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Kamille Jones, 9, who was kidnapped by her father, Jeffery Jones. The two were last were last seen on May 20, 2023 near the 4100 block of Wesley Club Drive. Kamille is 4 feet tall, 60lbsh brown eyes and black hair. Jones is 5’8, 200lbs. brown eyes and black hair. DECATUR, GA—The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on July 12, 10 a.m., for a new playground, parking lot and entrance at Ellenwood Park, 4100 River Road, Ellenwood. More than $2 million was provided from Commissioner Larry Johnson and the Parks Department to complete the park improvements. DECATUR, GA– The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office announced today (July 3) that an inmate died last week while in custody of the DeKalb County Jail. On June 28, 2023, officers were alerted that 37-year old Jonathan McWaters of Birmingham, Alabama was bleeding from numerous lacerations on his body while in his jail cell. Emergency medical services were performed on site by jail and health services staff and DeKalb Fire Rescue EMS, but efforts to revive McWaters after he became unresponsive were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced deceased. STONECREST, GA—The City of Stonecrest is launching a vibrant component to the newly-completed Salem Park. Visit Salem Park Pavilion on July 8, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., for “Art in the Park “ 5290 Salem Road, Stonecrest. The event is open to families and their children ages 3-12.
