DECATUR, GA—Beacon Hill Black Alliance for Human Rights invites the community to the unveiling of “The Art for the People” project, which will be held today (Sept. 12), at 2 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the historic Beacon Hill community in front of the Ebster Recreation Center, 416 W. Trinity Place in Decatur. The site is significant because the sculpture will be placed on the land where the former Beacon and Trinity schools that served the segregated Black community in Decatur once stood. The work of art, “What Sonia Said,” is a partnership between the Beacon Hill Black Alliance for Human Rights, Decatur Makers, and the Decatur Arts Alliance,
