STONECREST, GA—New Birth Missionary Baptist Church hosted community leaders and special guests on Saturday, Nov. 11, to unveil the Community Healthcare of America Clinic at New Birth. The clinic is expected to officially open in December.
Hundreds attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and toured the new clinic, an innovative partnership between New Birth and Community Healthcare of America aimed at expanding medical and preventative health services in South DeKalb.
Notable attendees included New Birth Senior Pastor Jamal Bryant; DeKalb Chief Executive Officer Michael Thurmond; DeKalb Commissioners Larry Johnson and Lorraine Cochran Johnson; Stonecrest Mayor Jazzmin Cobble; Stonecrest City Councilmembers Tammy Grimes and Rob Turner; School Board member Vickie Turner; Lithonia City Coucilmember Darold Honore’ and DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox.
“We are tremendously blessed by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm surrounding the Community Healthcare of America Clinic at New Birth,” said Tony Safieh, the clinic’s director.
The multi-specialty medical clinic will offer a comprehensive range of services, encompassing primary care, urgent care, disease prevention, and lower extremity healthcare, including podiatric medicine. Equipped with a full-service laboratory for testing, the clinic also will conduct various screenings to detect, treat, and prevent early-stage health issues such as vascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes. Clinic leaders emphasized the flexibility of onsite services, tailored to evolve and address identified needs and prevalent pathologies for the surrounding community.
When opened, the clinic will operate Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., with Saturday appointments available by request. Staffed by multiple doctors, physician assistants, and nurses, the Community Healthcare of America Clinic at New Birth caters to a spectrum of health needs, from insured individuals to Medicaid members. Future plans include the deployment of Community Healthcare of America Clinic mobile units to provide expanded medical services, designed to perform specific on-site treatments and support screenings and other health-related services.
