Congressman Hank Johnson to honor 11 trailblazers during Women’s History Month

DECATUR, GA – On Saturday, March 23, U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson is presenting eleven women in Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District with “Trailblazer” awards in recognition of their pioneering careers and service to the greater community. All of the honorees in recognition of Women’s History Month were among the first in their fields of endeavor.

The program will be held on March 23, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Legacy Park, 500 South Columbia Drive, Decatur. Special guests include Poet Laureate Hank Stewart, who will  recite a poem honoring the award winners and trumpeter Melvin M. Miller, who will perform a solo to recognize the Trailblazers. The Towers High School Ensemble also will perform a special selection.
