DeKalb County opens warming centers Nov. 9-11

DECATUR, GA– Due to forecasted freezing temperatures, DeKalb County is opening the following warming centers for residents beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9-11, Sunday through Tuesday:

• Frontline Response International, 2585 Gresham Road SE, Atlanta
  • St. Vincent de Paul, 2050-C Chamblee Tucker Road, Chamblee
  • Mason Mill Recreation Center, 1340 McConnell Drive, Decatur
  • Exchange Park Intergenerational Center, 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur
  • Golden Door Warming Center (Women & Children), 2944 Ember Drive, Decatur

All transportation routes originate from Frontline Response Headquarters (2585 Gresham Roadd SE, Atlanta) and are scheduled for initial pickups to be completed by 7:30 p.m. Following the initial routes, final sweeps will continue from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., ending promptly at 10 p.m.

During warming center activation, transportation pickups will be available to Frontline International according to the following schedule:

Frontline Response International is contracted by DeKalb County to serve individuals in need during extreme weather conditions. Hot dinners and breakfasts will be served nightly, along with bed or cots and case-management services centralized at Frontline’s headquarters. Transportation services from all warming centers to Frontline are available for those who wish to access these services.

Individuals may arrive directly at Frontline Response Headquarters (2585 Gresham Road SE, Atlanta, 30316) starting at 12 noon on activation days for transportation assistance, case management, or placement into a warming center.
