Metro-Atlanta area high school students and their families are invited to attend a college scholarship fair hosted by Infinite Scholars and The Leadership Team USA on Oct. 23 and 24, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., and 4 to 8 p.m., at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 6400 Woodrow Road, Stonecrest. Admission is free.
Courtney L. Dillard, who is organizing the event, said the college fair, which is in its fourth year, provides an opportunity for students and their families to meet college representatives and to learn about scholarship opportunities.
“This life-changing event gives hope after high school to every student who dreams of attending college but is uncertain how to pay for it,” said Dillard.
Thomas Ousley, Founder of Infinite Scholars, said the event will hosts representatives from colleges and universities who are prepared to discuss admission steps and scholarship opportunities at their schools.
Many students receive scholarship and admission offers on the spot, he said. A wide variety of schools from all over the country participate, from large private and public universities to small, liberal-arts colleges.
Students should bring multiple copies of their unofficial high school transcript, test scores (ACT/SAT), two letters of recommendation, resume and an essay about why he or she wants to attend college. Early registration is encouraged. A registration form can be filled out online at www.infinitescholar.orgor www.tltusa.org/register.
