Rep. Hank Johnson, who represents Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District, is being honored as a recipient of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America award.
The Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award recognizes members of Congress who demonstrate the bipartisan leadership to advancing policies that support America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
“I am happy to accept this award, and pledge to continue fighting for good fiscal policy that lifts everyone up not just the privileged few,” said Johnson. “President Lincoln once said: ‘Don’t worry when you are not recognized but strive to be worthy of recognition.’ I appreciate this recognition, and I consider it an honor to continue to do the work for Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District.”
U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark applauded recipients of the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America awards, saying their leadership is critical in moving the country forward.
“Now more than ever, our nation needs elected leaders with the courage to pursue common ground and bold, bipartisan solutions to America’s greatest challenges,” said U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark.
“These awards honor the deserving members of Congress that are forging common-sense solutions, working across the aisle, to enact lasting and meaningful reforms. In the days ahead, Congress must work together and support our nation’s free enterprise principles that will help bring our economy back to strength and put our people back to work.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry association.
