ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—The Rockdale Board of Commissioners (BOC) will host its first 2025 virtual evening town hall on Tuesday, April 15, 6 to 8 p.m. Constituents will have the opportunity to learn about key updates and voice their concerns about other matters.

The BOC had announced in February that it planned to introduce evening town hall meetings as a new addition to its regular schedule to provide an opportunity for constituents to speak directly with board members.
The town halls, the board said, reflect its commitment to transparency, ensuring that community stakeholders have ample opportunities to participate in discussions, voice concerns, and gain insight into the decision-making processes that shape our county.
Topics for the April town hall include Planning and Development Goals, Planning Commission Changes, and Text Amendments. The BOC will field questions from stakeholders on other issues.
Traditionally, the BOC meetings have served for discussing and deciding critical issues impacting Rockdale County.
Under the revised schedule:
- Regular Work Sessions and Voting Meetings now will be held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, beginning at 10 a.m.
- Town halls will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., providing an opportunity for residents to engage directly with commissioners through an information and Q&A format.
“We believe that by integrating town halls into our meeting schedule and consolidating Work and Voting Sessions, we can better serve our community by fostering open dialogue and collaboration,” said BOC Chair JaNice Van Ness. “These changes are designed to make our meetings more accessible and informative for all residents.”
