CONYERS, GA – Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) Community Relations Department recently earned three Awards of Excellence from the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA).
The department received a Gold Award in Special Events for the Virtual Teacher of the Year Celebration, Gold in Website for the Reopening / COVID-19 website, and Gold in Special Publication for the Reopening Guidebook.
The state-wide awards, open to school districts in Georgia for work produced during the 2020-21 school year, were announced during the March 2022 GSPRA Annual Conference.
In addition, Michelle Kim, RCPS Community Relations Manager, was awarded the Marie Wofford Professional Growth Award in recognition of her work in the field of public relations. She was nominated for the award by her co-worker, Cindy Ball.
“Michelle manages our websites and all of our social media,” said Ball in her nomination. “Her tireless efforts to keep our families informed of everything relating to COVID-19 along with the day-to-day school communications are invaluable to our organization and to the families and community we serve.”
This annual professional award honors one member for their outstanding work prior to and during the previous school year.
“Michelle is a valued member of our organization and the GSPRA Board,” said GSPRA President Callen Moore. “We are fortunate to have her on our team.”
