* Underwhelming yay with two handclaps*
Why do something tell me that this so called Lisa Young ” “beauty store” is no more than a glorified beauty supply store or a D.D.s discount like store?
Supposedly, this store is headquartered in Atlanta but the closest thing that I’ve seen it being known and/ or widespread is a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant by that name,a beauty supply store in Los Angeles and a health motivational speaker. I get suspicious about unknown place like that because nine times ten it end up being nothing inspiring.
It’s sad to say that while it’s not the first time that I’ve been in Snellville ( been plenty of times) ,it was my first time shopping at Snellville Pavilion for some shoes. I just thought how a shopping center should be ..with better known stores and quality products whether reasonable or expensive( Depending on one’s tastes) I also shop at Camp Creek,Conyers, Norcross , Stockbridge or occasionally , Fayetteville and Newnan( if I just happen to be out there)
I also still shop at Stonecrest Mall but I’m disappointed in the direction they’re going by bringing in unknown..and God knows I want to be wrong about this..too frugal stores into it. One of the reasons that I stopped shopping at South DeKalb Mall was because it became a mall that didn’t fit my age demographic.. predominantly cheap urban wear and nothing else. I wasn’t big on Macy’s,but that left. Now it’s just “there”.I guess that what the owners of the mall/ shops just think a middle age Black woman like me only like that kind of stuff* sigh*.
I’m not feeling this idea and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the residents in Stonecrest may carry those same feelings. There are several places to find the kind stuff this Lisa Young store is supposed to have( Macy’s, JCPenney’s anyone?).
It would have been better if the mall owners / store owners asked the people what they wanted for Stonecrest instead of assuming it. These days ,people just attempt to play psychic with the minds of people desires. I’m praying everyday that The New Black Wall Street Market will prosper.( I admit to being a skeptic about this but that’s another story). At least they’re attempting to bringing uniqueness to the shoppers experience.
Oops…I overlooked somethings in this story and it haven’t changed my mind a bit. If anything, it just make me hope that someone will pull the plug on unknown businesses like this.
No matter how fancy they make this so called Lisa Young store,it comes off as the familiar ,run of the mill five and dime store and with them being associated with the other beauty stores listed on here…oh no..it’s the same song. The new owner of say that customers will be “happy” with this store . Really?
When Urban Retailers said a good surprise was coming to the mall, I was expecting maybe…ummm something like another known department store like Ulta or something else spectacular judging by their reaction..not!
My concern is that if Stonecrest Mall continue to accept anything, the mall ,as we know it ,will turn into one giant flea market.
