Voices of Faith’s Bishop Gary Hawkins, Sr. anoints eldest son as future successor

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA–Bishop Gary Hawkins, Sr. has anointed his eldest son, Gary “G.J.” Hawkins, Jr., as the future successor of Voices of Faith Ministries. The pastoral installation of Pastor “GJ” Hawkins was held at Voices of Faith’s main campus in Stone Mountain and its Conyers’ campus on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022.

The installation comes as VOF prepares to celebrate Bishop Hawkins’ 28th pastoral anniversary and Founder’s Day on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022.  The church’s Empowerment Night is set for Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.

During the installation, Bishop Hawkins told the congregations that it was his desire to prepare his son now for the leadership role he will take in the future. Pastor G.J., as he is affectionately called by the congregation, will be training in all aspects of the ministry in preparation for taking the helm in the next 8 to 10 years, Bishop Hawkins said.

Pastor G.J. currently serves as Youth Pastor. His wife, Shanna C. Hawkins, became a licensed minister at Voices  of Faith on June 22, 2021. The millennial couple have a baby  girl, who has sprouted two bottom teeth.
