DECATUR, GA– The DeKalb County Beautification Unit will host two Scrap Tire Amnesty Day events: Saturday, March 21, and Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office parking lot, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA.
Participants will have an opportunity to dispose of up to 10 passenger vehicle tires in an environmentally responsible manner. Commercial vehicle tires and tires with rims will not be accepted.
“Improperly discarded tires are a common source of illegal dumping and can create environmental concerns that impact the appearance and safety of neighborhoods,” said
Beautification Unit Superintendent Ricky Crockett. “Our goal is to provide residents with a safe and an accessible way to dispose of scrap tires, while also addressing illegal dumping across DeKalb County.”
The events are free and only open to DeKalb County residents.
County staff and contracted partners will be on site to assist with proper tire disposal
and traffic management.
The Scrap Tire Amnesty Day initiative is part of DeKalb’s ongoing effort to promote environmental stewardship, improve neighborhood conditions, and support community beautification efforts.
