Rockdale County Board of Elections is working to make sure citizens are still able to vote as conveniently as possible during the General Primary/Nonpartisan/Special/Presidential Preference Primary occurring on June 9. The options being offered to vote include: mail absentee ballots, in-person early voting, Saturday voting and in- person Election Day voting. Early in-person voting will take place at 1400 Parker Road only. Election Day in-person voting will take place at the voter’s assigned polling place. Library remains closed during COVID-19 modifications   The Conyers Nancy Guinn Memorial Library will begin curbside service on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, starting May 11. Library patrons may pick up items that they have placed on hold by appointment only. The library will remain closed as it modifies its spaces to support government guidelines to lessen the spread of COVID-19. The library’s Circulation Department will contact patrons who have materials on hold. Patrons will drive up to the front entrance and staff will bring the items to your vehicle. STONECREST— New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is partnering with RoweDocs and MAJL Laboratories to offer a free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing site on the church’s campus on Sunday, May 10. Testing begins at 11 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. Individuals who do not have insurance or receive Medicaid and Medicare coverage are encouraged to participate. The DeKalb County Department of Planning and Sustainability has launched a new citizen survey to help inform future sustainability initiatives. Citizens can access the 10-question survey by visiting www.dekalbcountyga.gov/planning and clicking “Green Survey” under Announcements. Findings will help the department shape sustainability plans as the department works toward implementing additional environmentally-conscious practices. DeKalb County is certified through the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Green Communities program as a silver-level community.
