Rockdale County Fire Rescue is working an overturned tanker truck on Sigman near 138. The accident occurred about 5:45 p.m. today (Aug. 23). Fire Chief Dan Morgan reported a small chemical spill of concrete additives, but said there was no danger. He said Chancy’s is on the scene to right the truck and handle cleanup.

Incumbent Mayor Jason Lary will face two challengers as he seeks re-election for a four-year term: Diane Adoma and Charles S. Hill, Jr. Hill qualified on Thursday and Adoma qualified today(Aug. 23), the final day of the city’s thee-day qualifying period. Adoma was elected to the City Council in March 2017.
