The Chamblee Police Department responded to an incident on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 a.m. that was described as an apparent suicide at a business on Clairmont Road. “There is no danger to the public related to this incident and the DeKalb Medical Examiner is on the scene,” said Kerry Thomas, Chamblee Chief of Police. Currently, the Chamblee Police Department is investigating.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA – A Stone Mountain, Georgia man is in jail after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a woman and fired shots into the air on Stone Mill Way on Sept. 21. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office arrested Paul N. Donald, 43, at his residence Sept. 26 on charges of Aggravated Assault Weapon, a felony, and Reckless Conduct, a misdemeanor. According to the arrest warrants, Donald pointed the weapon multiple times at Alyssa M. ATLANTA—Gov. Brian P. Kemp ordered the activation of the State Operations Center today, Sept. 26, to prepare for Tropical Storm Ian later in the week. The state is making preparations in coordination with Director Chris Stallings of the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS), the National Weather Service, and other storm response partners, Kemp’s office said. STONECREST, GA—The Stonecrest Citizens Coalition is demanding an explanation for the departure of Janice Allen Jackson, who abruptly resigned as city manager on last Tuesday (Sept.20). Mayor Jazzmin Cobble confirmed Jackson’s departure during a brief interview with On Common Ground News on last Thursday, Sept. 22, two days following Jackson’s resignation.
