According to the National Weather Service, a wintry mix of rain, ice and/or snow is forecast for this weekend in Georgia. The winter weather is expected between Saturday evening (Jan. 15) and Monday morning(Jan. 17). Lows are expected to dip into the 20s with highs on Sunday in the 30s. Vernon Jones, Republican Gubernatorial Candidate, has filed a complaint with Georgia’s Secretary of State office requesting an investigation regarding a possible violation of the rules of the State Election Board. Jones stated in a news release that the alleged violation involves DeKalb County’s placement of an absentee dropbox on privately-owned property during the 2020 general election and the 2021 runoffs. ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Public Health is opening a mega testing site at The Home Depot Backyard, 1 Backyard Way, Atlanta, in Fulton County beginning Friday, Jan. 14. The drive-up site at the 11-acre park is expected to serve up to 2,000 residents daily. Health officials are opening the new site in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Fulton County Government, the Fulton County Board of Health, the Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency-Management Agency and Viral Solutions.
