ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA –A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting that left three people injured on Sunday (Sept. 5) at Sudo’s Bar and Brill, 2270 Salem Road, S.E., a spokesperson for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said. James Simpson, of Covington, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Reckless Conduct and booked into the Rockdale County Jail. Jogger found victim’s body on pathway at Emerald Park     DECATUR, GA– Malik Nunnally, 28, will serve life in prison for the murder of Maya Mitchell, 22.   DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston announced the conviction by jury trial in the murder case of the Atlanta man, after jurors returned guilty verdicts on Sept. 2 against Nunnally. Troop 1833’s U.S. Flag Drop Box is first location in East DeKalb County LITHONIA, GA—U.S. flags worn beyond repair have a new drop box where they may be officially retired, thanks to Eagle Scout candidate Darold Honore,’ III of Troop 1833. The drop box is the first in East DeKalb County to accept American Flags that are no longer in condition to be displayed. Students to temporarily learn online, pickup breakfast + lunch provided daily STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – DeKalb County School District announces the closing of Oak View Elementary School due to COVID-19. The school building will be closed effective Sept. 3, and reopen on Sept. 13. The school has had 18 students test positive for COVID-19, which has impacted more than 90 students and 13 staff members, who have had to quarantine and isolate.
