DECATUR, GA—DeKalb County will hold a webinar for landlords to explain the application process for its Tenant-Landlord Assistance Coalition program. The webinar will be held Thursday, July 1, at 7 p.m. Applicants can participate in the webinar via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/84580098198. ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA–The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a call concerning human remains found on Ebenezer Road near Cherry Hill Lane. A county worker discovered a skull while mowing the grass at the site on June 28 around 9:30 a.m. and the Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to the scene, said Deputy Kyana Jackson, spokesperson for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s office. “The remains were covered with kudzu. We believe it is a male. There were a pair of boxers that appear to belong to a male,” Jackson said. “The investigation is still in the preliminary stages.” The remains have…

DECATUR, GA – DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond has extended the five-year-old water service disconnection moratorium for residential water accounts to Sept. 1, 2021. The moratorium was set to expire on July 1. “While the county has addressed the issues that led to the moratorium in 2016, the extension gives customers more time to pay their outstanding bills in full or make payment arrangements,” CEO Thurmond said. The moratorium was established in October 2016 by Interim DeKalb County CEO Lee May.
