Heavily-trafficked roadways in South DeKalb to be targeted   DECATUR, GA –This weekend, DeKalb County Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will launch her annual litter initiative in which volunteers will clean up several stretches of heavily-trafficked roadways. The city of Stonecrest is undergoing sweeping changes in its administration reassigning key positions including acting city manager, deputy city manager, city clerk, communications director, planning director and finance director, just to name a few. DEKALB COUNTY, GA—A 31-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision by a driver traveling in the wrong direction on I-285 near Flat Shoals Parkway, the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) said today (April 8). The impact triggered a chain reaction, causing the man to crash into a third car, but authorities said the victim in the third car is expected to be all right. ATLANTA—On April 12, two westbound lanes on DeKalb Industrial Way at Lawrenceville Highway will be closed from Monday at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, April 14 at 9 p.m., while crews work to decommission an old water line which was recently replaced with a new larger line. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, with other local law enforcement agencies, has arrested the second suspect in the Easter Sunday murder and armed robbery of a 19-year-old and 17-year old at a Brookhaven apartment complex. Bre’ On Harold Corbin, 17, was arrested on Tuesday, April 6, during a traffic stop near his residence in Lawrenceville. Family and friends will celebrate the life of Ann Brown on Monday, April 12, 1 p.m., at Donald Trimble Mortuary Chapel, 1876 Second Ave., Decatur, GA. The homegoing service will be held in person with a limit of 50 people attending, but will be lived streamed by Donald Trimble Mortuary for the community at-large. Brown, who was fondly nicknamed the “Mayor of Belvedere because of her unwavering dedication to the community where she lived,” passed away on Saturday, April 3 after illness.
