ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Voices for Rockdale will partner with the City of Conyers’ Adopt A Mile community cleanup on Wednesday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers are needed and welcome to participate. The group will meet at Pine Log Road and the Bulldog gravel lot to park and pick up supplies. Dress comfortably for the warm weather. The meeting will be conducted in person at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur. ROCKDALE COUNTY—Cheers erupted as a young player threw the ceremonial first pitch on Thursday, July 10, marking the grand unveiling of the newly renovated All-Star Legacy Field at the Barksdale Boys & Girls Club.  The field renovation, a joint initiative of the Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball was celebrated during MLB’s All-Star Game Week festivities. DECATUR, GA—In a two-day initiative aimed at enhancing public safety, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office partnered with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to execute Operation Safe DeKalb 2025.   The July 8-9 operation, which included about 125 officers from 15 law enforcement agencies, focused on serving outstanding warrants in high-crime areas in DeKalb.  Officers attempted arrests at 400 locations, resulting in 53 arrests, for felonies and misdemeanors. An additional 10 arrests were made for traffic violations and transported to the DeKalb County Jail without incident.
