DEKALB COUNTY, GA—The DeKalb County Planning & Sustainability Department is hosting a DeKalb Community Academy “Towers 101” meeting on Thursday, April 30, from 6 to  8 p.m. , 1399 Austin Drive, Decatur.  This session is designed to empower residents by providing important information about zoning, housing, revitalization, and how local government processes work. County officials say this meeting is especially important for residents in the Towers area, as it creates an opportunity for them to learn, ask questions, and connect with county resources. CARTERSVILLE, GA —The cheers echoed across Cooper’s Furnace Day Use Area on April 11, where 44 kids and their families surrounded the pond.  “I caught my first fish! DEKALB COUNTY, GA—New details are unfolding about Olaolukitan Adon Abel, the 26-year-old suspect arrested in connection with the shooting spree that left two women dead and a homeless man critically injured in separate early Monday morning attacks.    Abel is a convicted felon with an extensive criminal history, according to news reports. In Oct. 2024, Abel was convicted of shooting a peace officer in San Diego, California, 11 Alive News reported.
